Ranks 2nd in Singapore’s Best Employers 2025 List and Retains Great Place to Work® Certification for the Third Consecutive Year
Singapore, 30 April 2025 — In a rapidly evolving world of work, where employee expectations and workplace dynamics are constantly shifting, Asia Pacific Breweries Singapore (APBS) remains steadfast in its commitment to building a workplace that puts our people first. This year, APBS has once again been recognised as one of Singapore’s Best Employers, proudly rising to 2nd place in the 2025 list by The Straits Times and Statista, up from 3rd place last year. The company has also retained its Great Place to Work® Certification for the third consecutive year.
A Workplace Built by Our People
A great workplace is not built from the top down but shaped together by its people. At APBS, every employee is empowered to turn ideas into action and make a meaningful impact. Our people do not just live out the company’s values, they bring them to life through ground-up initiatives that resonate most with our team. This shared sense of empowerment is what shapes APBS into a Great Place to Work, year after year, where every voice truly makes a difference.
Becoming a More Sustainable Workplace

Our employees are the driving force behind many of our sustainability initiatives. In celebration of World Environment Day 2024, we launched a “Race to Reduce” Ideathon, where employees from various functions came together as one team to brainstorm ideas on how to actively contribute to our sustainability goals. This ground-up initiative led to several eco-friendly improvements in our workplace, including a returnable lunchbox system in our canteen, water-saving taps in our toilets, and a closed-loop recycling process for event materials to reduce waste. Watch our highlights video here.
Building on this successful pilot, we set ourselves a new challenge this year to find ways to support the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) as a company and make a real impact in our communities.
Improving Our Workplace Amenities Together

In addition to our comprehensive suite of workplace amenities, which include a fully equipped gym, a yoga studio, and the signature Tavern bar offering a complimentary selection of beers, we actively listen to our employees’ feedback and invest in initiatives that matter most to them. One example of this is the creation of a new recreation space within our office, designed and championed by our employees. This people-led project features new facilities for badminton, table tennis, and wellness activities, providing a much-needed area for staff to recharge, reconnect and prioritise their wellbeing.
Making Mental Health a Priority

We take a holistic view of wellbeing, recognising mental health as equally important as physical health. With management support, our employees have led ground-up initiatives to create safe spaces for open conversations and connection — from Muay Thai classes and ‘human library’ sessions to creative workshops like ceramics and leathercraft. These efforts have helped normalise mental health conversations across the workplace.
To ensure ongoing support, APBS has also partnered with mental health experts to provide a 24/7 on-demand support app, giving employees easy and confidential access to care whenever they need it.
Shaun Ee, Cluster Head of People at The HEINEKEN Company (Singapore and Myanmar), said: “These workplace recognitions belong to our people, who are a source of inspiration in the way they consistently go above and beyond in their roles and look out for one another as a team. Our people continue to challenge the status quo and reimagine what a great workplace can look like in today’s climate of evolving workforce expectations. From driving our business ambitions to championing mental well-being and sparking sustainability ideas, their motivation to shape our workplace is what sustains our standing as a top employer and enables us to grow stronger together, year after year.”
As APBS continues to grow, our culture of trust, empowerment and collective ownership, built by employees for employees, remains at the heart of everything we do. These recognitions reaffirm what we already know: our people are our greatest strength, and together, we are shaping APBS into a truly great place to work.
